From Champion Racer to Malaysia’s Safety Riding Icon

Dr. Wazi Abdul Hamid (DBA, APEL.Q), a Malaysian motorcycle legend, clinched the 1996 125cc Underbone Championship and has since dedicated over 30 years to promoting road safety and rider education. His transition from a celebrated racer to a passionate safety advocate underscores his commitment to nurturing responsible riders across the nation.
His journey from the racetrack to safety training has inspired countless Malaysian riders.
Dr. Wazi Abdul Hamid (DBA, APEL.Q), affectionately known as “Raja Kapcai,” boasts a distinguished racing career spanning over a decade. He clinched the 1996 Malaysian Cub Prix Championship (Expert category) and consistently secured top positions in the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship, including second place in 2001 and 2003. His extensive experience on both national and international circuits has endowed him with unparalleled insights into motorcycle dynamics and rider safety.
Transitioning from racer to mentor, Wazi has dedicated himself to educating riders, emphasizing that true mastery goes beyond speed—it encompasses discipline, awareness, and responsibility.

For him, one life lost on the road is one too many. He has seen how a split-second mistake can destroy families — and he carries that weight into every training session. His goal is not just to teach riding, but to make sure every rider gets home alive.
